Softlab North America becomes Solutience, Inc.

Greenville, SC, November 4, 2003

Softlab, Inc., a BMW Group Company, announces the completion of a management buyout led by President and CEO Richard Fowler, providing local autonomy to the IT consulting firm that will be known as Solutience. "In recent months, Softlab Worldwide made a strategic decision to focus on European markets, particularly those in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK," Fowler said. "By completing the management buyout, we will continue to provide our customers with the same quality of service as before while simultaneously approaching new customers in the North American marketplace."

"We now have the opportunity to perform entrepreneurially in an American way, instead of functioning as the North American subsidiary of a European company. For us, this means greater flexibility and responsiveness," Fowler said.

Solutience currently employs twenty-two people, including business development executives, information technology consultants and administrative support. The company will continue to operate its offices on East Court Street in Greenville.

Fowler completed the transaction with assistance from Carolina First; TW Group; Leatherwood Walker Todd and Mann; and Crisp Hughes Evans.
